Anyone unlucky enough to make it over to the Sony Xplod booth at SEMA this week will be greeted by this “Lamborghini” replica that takes some of the best elements of the Italian supercar and twists them into something that isn’t for anyone with a weak stomach. Built by The Custom Shop for John Robert Wargo, some of the details look right, but it basically only has a loose association with the real thing. Blending elements of the Diablo, Gallardo Superleggera and Murcielago, it is none of the above. It’s actually powered by a 450 HP, 5.3L Chevy LS4 and is said to be good enough to push this 3200-lb car to 200 mph. We sincerely doubt it, especially considering its dubious aerodynamics and the TV monitors and speakers pouring out of every orifice on this “vehicle.” We really doubt that it would be up to the task of going down the road at even regular highway speeds, let alone 200 mph. If you have the guts, click through to see the full gallery.

Lamborghini celebrates 3000 Murciélagos sold

During most weeks, Ford will build more than 3,000 F-Series pickups by Wednesday. It has taken more than five years to build 3,000 Lamborghini Murciélagos, but in the realm of $300,000 supercars the Italian automaker can consider this level of sales success a very substantial accomplishment. The Lamborghini Murciélago replaced the Diablo in 2002, sporting a 6.2L V12 capable of hitting 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. To keep up with the ever-evolving supercar set, Lamborghini unveiled the LP640 model at Geneva in 2006. This upgraded bull sports a larger 6.5L V12, which helps shave .4 off its 0-60 time. Power and style coupled with a renewed appetite for $300,000 sports cars has helped the Murciélago surpass sales numbers of the Diablo, its predecessor, in half the production time.

Number 3,000 is headed for the U.S. and it’s been equipped with several high-end touches to celebrate its milestone status. The Telesto Grey LP640 has been upgraded with special finishing touches including a black interior contrasted with orange stitching. The success of the Murciélago is big news for fans of the Italian bull, so break out the Amaretto (if you’re over 21) and check out the full press release from Lambo after the jump.
