The 2008 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 was launched at the Geneva motor show. The 560 designates how much horsepower the car has in European trim, the US models only have 552 HP and 398 lb-ft of torque.

President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann, says "The Gallardo LP560-4 will outclass its predecessor in every aspect; its dynamics are dinctly breathtaking and its design sets new standards. With the introduction of the Gallardo LP560-4, we will consistently continue Lamborghini's growth strategy".

The engine is a direct-injected 5.2-liter V10. Losing 20 kilos from the curb weight allows the LP560-4 to race to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and giving it a top speed of 201 mph. Lamborghini claim better driveability, stability, and handling.

Lamborghini say the Audi-developed e-Gear sequential transmission have been improved by reducing shift times 40 percent.
